The course selection process is a partnership between parents, students and our staff. It is essential to talk with your child about their future aspirations and to use all available resources to make informed decisions about pathways and subject choices.
Compulsory, elective and free choice subjects vary at each year level. Details about pathways and individual subjects are available in the Course Selection Guides.

2026 Course Selection Information Evening & Pathways Expo
The 2026 Course Selection Information Evening & Pathways Expo will be held on Wednesday 30th July 5.30pm-8.00pm. Families can attend different Year Level presentations and talk with teachers, current students and Careers & Pathways Advisors about available subject choices. TAFE and university representatives will also be present to answer questions.
Students can obtain application forms regarding Accelerated VCE, VPC, VET and the VCE-VM programs.
Parent/Carer Information sessions will run in Moondah and the Careers Pathways Expo will be held in the Stadium.

Year 8 into 9 6.00pm – 6.30pm
Year 9 into 10 6.30pm – 7.00pm
Year 10 into 11 7.00pm – 7.30pm
Course Counselling Interviews
Course Selection Interviews with our Course Counsellors are compulsory for all current Year 9, 10 & 11 students. Interviews will be held in Moondah on the following days:
- Year 9 into 10 2026 – Tuesday 12th August 12pm to 7pm
(No Year 9 classes will run this day) - Year 10 into 11 2026 – Tuesday 5th August 12pm to 7pm
(No Year 10 classes will run this day) - Year 11 into 12 2026 – Thursday 7th August 2pm to 7pm
(Year 11 Period 1 to 4 classes will run as normal. Year 11 Period 5 classes cancelled)
As noted above, on the day that Year 9 and 10 has course counselling interviews, there will be no classes scheduled for that year level. For Year 11, only Period 5 classes are cancelled.
Parents/carers will be able to book a time to attend an interview with their child on the Compass Parent Portal. We will notify families when the booking window opens. Click here for a screenshot of how to book an interview on Compass.
Students will make their course selection online via the EDVAL Webchoices program that has been used in the past.
Course Selection for our current Year 7 and Year 8 students will be completed in LG sessions.

Course Selection Process
- View the Year Level presentations that describe the course structure and options available at each year level.
- Read about programs and subjects in more detail in the Course Selection Guides
- Students received information about the Course Selection process at their year level Course Selection Assembly in Week 1 or 2.
- Course/subject choices will be made via Webchoices – an online selection form.
- Before completing Webchoices, students must discuss possible course selections (including costs) with their parents/guardians.
- Students will receive an email with a link and a password for Webchoices in Week 2.
- Course Counselling Interviews with Course Counsellors are compulsory for all current Year 9, 10 & 11 students (see dates listed above). Bookings can be made on the Compass Parent Portal.
- Complete Webchoices online before your Course Counselling Interview, if applicable:
- Log into Webchoices using the link and a password sent to your student email
- Enter your subject choices and click Submit.
- Print a copy and get your parent/guardian to sign it.
- Hand the signed copy of your course selection to your Sub School by Friday 15th August.
- You may change your choices as often as you like in Webchoices until the closing date for your year level.

Costs of Electives & Special Programs
Please note some special programs and elective subjects have subject contributions associated with them to cover the cost of materials. These vary and are specific to the subject and program students select. Costs are outlined in the Parent Contributions schedule and on Webchoices.
Senior School Pathways
In Years 10 to 12, study programs can be chosen from:
- Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)
- Victorian Certificate Education: Vocational Major (VCE VM)
- VET DSS (Vocational Education & Training Direct to Secondary Students)
If you intend studying a VET Course in 2026 please select VET Certificate in your Webchoices and complete the VET Expression of Interest.
VCE VM and VET Expression of Interest Forms
To be considered for selection in VCE Vocational Major (VM) and/or VET program, students must complete the Expression of Interest Form/s.
The VCE-VM Expression of Interest Form was provided at Course Selection assemblies in LG. Copies will also be available on the Course Selection evening. Applications must be hand written.
Early Access to University Studies
Are you interested in studying first-year University units as part of your VCE in 2026? Early Access to University Studies (EAUS) are offered to high-achieving and high-ability senior secondary students who wish to have an early entry to University in their VCE program. They are first-year university subjects that are taken as part of a student’s VCE program, and are equivalent in duration and workload of a VCE Unit 3 & 4 sequence. Students who have completed an early access VCE course may be eligible to complete an early access university subject which provides a score as a sixth subject.
